Antoine Carpentier
Skipper

A meaningful project!

Late 80s

Antoine Carpentier and Matthias Navarro meet on the college benches. A strong friendship begins. Antoine was already dreaming of setting sail and without knowing it a partnership was already writing the future of this duo.

Several years later

Having become a professional skipper, Antoine forged a track record to match his enormous talent. Mainly in crewed races.

After winning the Transat Jacques Vabre double in 2017, Antoine is taking part, solo, in his very first Route du Rhum in 2018.

Redman comes to support him as a sponsor in this big step. It’s a nice 7th place that is won!

Faced with this brilliant result, unexpected given the conditions of preparation, Antoine and Redman imagine together a somewhat crazy project!

Antoine Carpentier x Redman

Redman seals a multi-year sports partnership with Antoine.

A strong ambition for the group, which recognizes itself in the values of sailing and which the COVID-19 health crisis will not call into question.

Redman then goes from the construction of buildings to the construction of a latest generation Mach 40 boat, designed by and for Antoine, where innovation is at the forefront in the service of performance.

Great pride for the entire Redteam which is thus committed to a somewhat crazy project. The adventure can finally begin!

“The choice of offshore racing is a consistent choice for Redman. Sailing is a very unifying sport, which conveys positive values in accordance with those of our group. Synonymous with dreams and adventure, escape and solidarity, at sea and in business, we find the quest for challenge and performance, the culture of humility and self-transcendence. Furthermore, sailing is a sport with a strong environmental awareness, which is part of our DNA”
Matthias Navarro & Nicolas Ponson, Co-founders and partners of Redman

Antoine Carpentier

In his 20-year career, Antoine Carpentier from Trinidad and Tobago has made a name for himself in the world of offshore racing.

This sailor whose talent is recognized by his peers for his human qualities, his tenacity and his professionalism.

He has a unique track record: four-time winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre in Class40 and Multi 50, five-time winner of the Rolex Fastnet Race, four-time winner of the Tour de France sailing, two-time winner of the Transat Québec Saint-Malo in Class 40 and in Multi 50, multiple winner of the Spi Ouest France… in total, more than 50 victories on all circuits!

Over the years, Antoine has become a highly sought-after crew member. He finally tasted solo in 2018 and finished 7th in the Route du Rhum. It does not take more for him to aspire to return with, this time, a winning project alongside his sponsor Redman.

The Class 40 Redman

The Class40 Redman is a latest generation design designed by Sam Manuard. It has the particularity of having a round nose, a very wide bow.

This light and solid boat was built in epoxy glass sandwich and made by vacuum infusion.

The green leg of this project: everything that is not structural on board the monohull comes from vegetable matter and not from oil.

In our projects as much as on the Redman boat, frugality – doing better with less – is key!
